Youth Alliance has established an emergency Solidarity Fund to provide financial resources for some families in urgent need. This fund will help youth and families we serve in San Benito County, Gilroy and Morgan Hill and will focus on those who might not be eligible for other resources.
The urgent need for food, rental or housing assistance, and resources in Spanish have been consistent issues that families are facing. For the vast majority of the over 1,500 students we serve, they still do not have access to technology or Wi-Fi which is widening the achievement gap and making it difficult to provide counseling and youth support services that are very needed right now.
Please consider making a gift in any amount. Together, we can support those most in need, helping them stay safe and healthy during this unprecedented crisis.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to support the Solidarity Fund and youth center programs that will provide needed support for our young people and families. Funding will be used to help YA continue to be an important bilingual/ bicultural connection and trusted immediate response network for youth and families to help manage the increasingly complex requests for help such as emergency resources, technology/wifi, counseling, and support with education, or advocacy. The Solidarity Fund will help provide emergency needs such as:
- Education resources
- Essential items such as wipes and other sanitizing items
- Rent assistance
- Food assistance
- Technology resources
